"Kenst yuh" is Yiddish for "Yes, you can!" and serves as the pool's motto. Hey, you never know...!
The name also pays homage to the memory of Ken Zerbe (1973–2023), a Morgan Stanley analyst who organized and managed his well-loved lottery pool for six years before his untimely passing from a rare form of liver cancer. Ken was beloved and adored by everyone who knew him. May his memory be a blessing.

Kenst Yuh runs two jackpot-only pools featuring the Powerball and Mega Millions lotteries.
A pool opens once a ticket is actually worth its price, given the odds (in probability terms, once its expected value turns positive). Concretely, that means the jackpot has grown past roughly $584M for Powerball or $1.51B for Mega Millions (the exact line moves slightly with the current cash value).
The pools are jackpot-only pools. Second-, third-, and lower-tier prizes are not distributed among pool participants. This is common practice across "friends and neighbors" lottery pools as it facilitates smoother pool administration and operations without requiring participation fees or taking a percentage of jackpot winnings.
Weekday drawings (Powerball's Monday and Wednesday draws, Mega Millions' Tuesday draw): entries close at 5:00 PM the day of.
Weekend drawings (Mega Millions' Friday and Powerball's Saturday drawing): entries close the preceding Friday, at 1:00 PM EST or 3:00 PM DST.
Currently, pool contributions are accepted via Zelle only. This helps ensure that the full amount of each contribution goes directly toward ticket purchases and avoids the fees currently associated with other payment platforms.
The Kenst Yuh team will verify your contribution and confirm your spot in the pool. Contributors will receive an email with photos of the purchased tickets and a full breakdown of each contributor's share along with other relevant pool details some time between pool close and the jackpot drawing.
In the event of a jackpot win, the lump-sum cash option will be selected automatically to simplify the distribution of winnings among pool participants. The collection and distribution of the jackpot prize will be handled solely by Kenst Yuh's retained legal counsel. Claim-related costs, including but not limited to legal fees, will be shared among participants in proportion to their respective shares in the pool. You agree to provide any information, documentation, and authorizations reasonably required to verify your identity, process prize claims, satisfy tax reporting obligations, and comply with applicable laws. Failure to do so within the timeframe set by Kenst Yuh counsel may result in forfeiture of your share in the pool.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to participation in a Kenst Yuh pool shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration, with the arbitrator, arbitration forum, procedures, and all other related matters selected and determined at the sole discretion of Kenst Yuh. The decision of the arbitrator selected by Kenst Yuh shall be final and binding on all parties.
